Default Getting tires...Need Some help.

Hey guys, im getting new tires and im going to call around first thing tomorrow to check prices, but i need some advise on tire size... Ive never quite understood it. Basically I got new rims and there going to be "17 in, all around and i would like to know what tires size should i be looking at. I dont was Super low pros and worry about blow outs and terrible ride. But yet i doubt i could keep the same size and not have them rub on the wheel wells. As always all help is appriciated

How wide are the rims? 8" the max you should go is 255, maybe 265 if you dont mind a little sidewall bulge. I have 17x8's and I'm getting 245/45-17 (9.64" wide x 25.68" diameter) for the front and 255/45-17 (10.03" wide x 26.03" diameter) for the back.

I got 275/40-17 on 9.5 inch wheels on the convertable and no rubbing. The other Camaro's can go up to 305 on the back but not 100% sure.

Home - Discount Tire Direct

example

Tire Details - Discount Tire Direct

you can't beat that price. Free shipping and install at a local shop should be $70-$80 for 4 tires mount/balance/stem disposal fee

You may also want to give the local Sams club a call and see if they have a blowout on BF goodrich. I got 275 40 17's for $85 each but they won't mount them for you because they use the factory sizing and despite having aftermarket wheels, they follow the walmart liability rules and thus you buy the tires and go elsewhere for installation

The reason i got a dicount was because the ones i have are powdercoated with the black on the inside and the machining around the edges is off by less than an inch, and some how that means defective product so therefore i get a discount haha, one problem we ran into today was that the rear hubs wouldnt fit the rim which idk how that happens, although these are made to fit a corvette idk if that has anything to do with it....does it? But i got them machined down litterally a MILIMETER and im due to get them put on tomorrow morning. Hope all goes well!
