The other option is to use your parts to fix a decent car. I have seen decent Z28s that needed a new nose pc fenders and a hood but ran fine sale for under $1000.

You can part the car out. Depending on the time you want to put into it, there are a lot of parts that could sell on ebay or you could craigs list it and tell people they have to pull the parts. once that is done scrape it. It could turn into a nice money maker for you.

ya you can find a z28 for the right price ,looks like alot of work to fix right ,it was not stored properley ,it should have been ran an started each year atleast ,an the proper stablizer ,to many people do that then dont know its worse then keeping them running ,almost like leaveing it outside ,was it on concrete or the ground ,some old barns have no floor ,then puting wood down only helps for so long,i had seen a 97 z28 grabber orange was nice body paint ,it said would not shift into third gear they wanted $750.00 ,may have been as easy as gear linkage fix in the trans ,i missed it,some of the best sales can be when they say just want it gone ,sometimes ,couse they dont know what they have sometimes

Given the issues I've been facing with the '94, my wife suggested I go buy a new one. God, how I love that woman.

It Lives!!! Proves that throwing cash at a project will reap rewards. First was the new fuel pump. Cut the hatch, pulled the old pump and had no more questions. Rust in the tank and the gas was the color of coffee. Sludge in the bottom of the tank. New tank installed. Nasty job. Not for the faint hearted. Heat and big hammers were used extensively. Broken valve off the canister. Hole in one of the plastic lines. Neither available. My mechanics came up with a work around... not sure what they did. Anyway, it urns and drives good. Suspension is stiffer than I'm used to. Transmission shifts up and down, although the gear indicator is stuck in neutral. Brakes straight and true, still have to check pads and shoes. Been diligently removing all the glue from the fairing kit and rubbing out the various panels. Took it to dinner tonight, no issues other than the stuff that doesn't work. Woo Hoo!!!

A quick update!
"Kate"...she was lost, but is now a survivor...continues to run great after a month of pretty much daily usage. My confidence level is building.

Ran it through a engine oil cleaning change, all fluids checked out, Brakes are good, rotors are good, little bit of slop in the rear end, tie rod ends are shot, tires rotated and balanced, filled the gas tank and put in a can of Seafoam.

So far, so good.
