Default Fuel Pressure Regulator

Well, I finally got what I thought was a bad fuel pump fixed today!

Originally, on my 98 Trans Am, when you turn the key, most of the time it would not fire right up. The shop that inspected the car ( a month or so ago), said I was only get 39 PSI when he tested my fuel line. We thought this was because I had bad pump. I bought the RaceTronix pump and finally took it to a different shop last night to have them install it today.

Well, the tech ran some tests this morning before dropping the tank and noticed I was loosing fuel pressure when the car was turned off. This lead them to believe it was the fuel pressure regulator, which is why I was loosing fuel pressure. He hooked some diagnostic machine up to test my pump and was receiving positive readings, which also lead them to believe it is the fuel pressure regulator.

So, I had to purchase the AC DELCO fuel pump with the fuel pressure regulator for $370 (he gave me a 2 year warranty on it as well). $680 later, my car fire rights up and drives great!
