Default Fuel pressure goes to zero

Hello all,

I have a 93 Z-28, all stock as far as I know. I just replaced the fuel pump, fuel filter and the car runs. However, the fuel pressure at the schader valve drops to zero after I shut the car off.

There does not appear to be any gas leaking, nor any gas fumes.

How can I determine which end of the car is causing the pressure loss (engine or fuel pump)?

Thanks,

u could pull the fuel rails off and then prime the fuel pressure up. if u see fuel leaking from one of the injectors u found the problem. if not then u would need to look at the fuel pressure regulator, any fuel leaks and the fuel pump. probly should look for any signs of fuel leaks right on down the fuel lines. look for a darkened and or clean spot. smell for gas too.

Is the engine hard to start after is sits a while? That's one symptom of a leaking injector(s) flooding out one or more cylinders.

The car is sort of hard to start (3-5 turns of the engine).

Is there an easy way to tell if an injector is leaking?

do you let the fuel pump prime, or do you go straight to starting it?

I've tried it both ways (wait 2 seconds, then crank and just cranking).

After waiting 2 seconds for the pump to prime, the car starts after a few cranks.

try turning the key on and letting it prime and then off without trying to start it then on again and off. do it three times. then try starting it.
