The cradle might be mounted crooked, if that's even possible.

awhile back, I swapped my front spindles from LT1 to LS1 & after struggling w/couple of striped bolts, took it to a local shop to help me with one side. got it home and all seemed to be well, drove around for a week & then pulled into the local grocery store and felt the front end shift/grind. I freaked out. turned out, the spindle bolts on one side were not tightened and had come loose....It gave the car an appearance that the front end wasn't right. After you take off tires, check all bolts/nuts to everything: spindles, shocks/struts (whatever we call them!), tie rod links as I have seen these snap from age/rust, just take your time and check every freeking thing, making sure your care is secured well/safely before doing anything.....take your time, don't assume it's only on one side, check both sides, best wishes and let us know....

photobucket works good, open free account, download pictures, copy img code from picture to your post and it shows. keep pic size at 680 on the big side.

Front should not be cocked because there are alignment pins in the front K-member. Cars are not as accurately built as most people think. The body panels have a lot of adjustment to make up for variation in part. This is why your car need alignment and why you have over an inch of adjustment. If you push the envelope of a wheel well I would not expect the tires to hit the inner fenders at the same time. Your not the first person that has thought there was something wrong with their car because one side rubs differently then another.

I have even had customer that bought rims off a Chevelle and put them on a Chevelle and they rubbed on one side.

Maybe think of this way. There is only ONE alignment setting that is correct at any given height for your wheels. You can't change that. You can raise the car, You can get smaller tires, you can change rim offset or add a spacer, you can shim or other wise alter your inner fenders. If you raise the car it will need re-alignment.

Step one be sure the alignment is right. Step two is up to you.
