Friends car wont start

See if the coil is mounted on the firewall, and if there's small module about 1.5" square near the coil. That's an ignition module, and mine would overheat after running a while and kill the engine. Can't remember if a good clean grounded mounting is important for it, but it's worth a check. If it has that module, pull the plug and make sure there's a good connection.

Im gunna swap the ICM and we`ll see what happens

was talkin to a mechanic friend of mine and he said that inorder to take out the ICM id have to take out the whole distributor , this true?

well, took off the distributor cap, and one of the wire going to the ICM looked corroded, i cleaned it up but the car still wont start, im thinking maybe since it got corroded and didnt make proper contact, it somehow fried the ICM? possible?
