Just wondering what I should do to my car first. I want to lower the car but I also want to get some 17" Z06 wheels for it. I was just wondering if I would run into any kind of fitment issues and if I should get one before the other to get a better idea of how things will work. I am lowering the car because I autocross it whenever I can so any little bit helps.

 

This is an old post but I'm gonna put my 2 cents in anyway... I would definetely get the wheels first. Then you can measure and see exactly how far you can drop your car.

 

Thanks for the reply. i am going to go with the wheels first since I have a birthday and Christmas coming up. I will probably ask for something to help pay for them. Any idea what size tires to run?

 

I'm having some issues with sizes too... there are a few postings on tire sizes on here though if you look through some of the older ones.

 

I have corvette ZO6 black powdercoated rims which are 17" X 9.5". The tire size I am running is 275 40 ZR17. My camaro is lowered but I couldn't really tell you how much. The tire don't rub at all and the rims look great.

I have been trying but it says the files are to large even when I crop the pictures so I am trying another camara. Just give me a little time. I have a photo album under my user name but only pictures of my old 95 V6. None I don't think of the SS.

I have 17X9.5 with 247/40/ZR17's all around. No rubbing issues, but the car isn't lowered. That's probably the widest tire you'll want up front but if you can find some 11" wheels you like for the back you can run up to a 315 without rubbing.
