Default Firebird dash in a Camaro?

Will a Firebird dash fit in a Camaro? I can't find a decent dash pad for a Camaro anywhere and I can get a whole Firebird dash with the dash pad and everything for $100. I just need to know if it will fit my car. Has anyone done this?

I believe the dash pads are the same or at least if you look at the description on ebay, some of those covers say camaro/firebird. Might want to check into that.

it should fit but you will need the console also cuz it might leave a gap between the camaro console and firebird dash

That I don't know. As far as the physical size, I would say yes but the wiring harness might be a nightmare but hey, anything is possible if your wallet is thick enough!

it's certainly been done before. check ls1tech or something, there's gotta be a sticky or something somewhere.

I'd be sure to get the entire dash AND dash support stuff, including ductwork, etc. The big pain-in-the-butt swap difference between 93-97 Camaro dashes and the Firebirds are where the vents come out. I presume the wiring harnesses are long enough to move around...

I read in a Camaro Performers feature earlier this year where the owner put a Firebird dash in his '97 Camaro. Of all the things he did to that car, which were plenty, he said the dash was the toughest thing to tackle.

Under dash schematics for both cars are the same so I would imagine that the cars both have similar plug locations. You may need to change the inside heater box parts and ducting as well. I guess it would work but make sure to get the same year dash. There are wiring differences in 93, 94, 95, 96, 97-99, 00-02

93 some differences with the gauge cluster
94 gauge cluster and tranny
95 OBD 1.5 BCM change
96 Cluster and OBDII New style BCM
97-99 New dash Updated BCM used through 02
00-02 Minor upgrades here are there mainly in the stereo and accessory department.

I hope this helps

I do like my Firebird dash setup, however, the A/C vents are just a pain! You have to rotate them in all funny directions to get it to point at you and grrrr. I liked my Camaro vents better, but everything else is nice.
