Engine Swap
hi i am trying to do a engine swap, i took a 3.8l (3800 series 2) engine out of my 94 camaro after it stopped starting, i am trying to put a 350 small block in it out of a 79 c/k20 chevy truck, i am stuck on what mounts i will need for this engine to be supported, i am doubtful that the v6 mounts will work, and the 79 mounts wont bolt up to holes that are there already, any ideas or knowledge on this would be very greatfull

i think the guy before me had a engine swap, because the 3800 series 2 didnt come out till 96 from what i have researched, the 94 had the 3.4
still leaves me wondering what motor mounts to do for my 350 small block, i looked at z28 mounts but they wouldnt bolt up if i bought them

i totaled it... a dizzy is a distributor (the rotor inside spins around and gets "dizzy") and the cowl is uder the windshield in the engine compartment
also its not impossible to remove the engine through the top just harder. ive pulled the engine out of my Z through the top and dropped it out the bottom and it takes at least twice as long out the top
this was Ashley looking good
and Ashley totaled
it still makes me sad looking at the pics

You could always find a Z/28 k-member. Those motor mounts will bolt up to your 350. But again, as said, you run into the issue with the distributor hitting the cowl.
You'll also have to upgrade the suspension because a V6 Camaro's suspension won't last very long with the extra weight from the 350. You're better off either finding a donor Z/28, a good running Z/28, or another V6.
By the way, BC what did you hit, if I may ask? I knew you wrecked it, but I never knew it was that bad!
