Engine swap?

Engine swap?
Back in the good old days you were able to put almost any engine in any car and not have to worry about to many complications(My dad put three engines in his Nova, a 305 then a 350, then a 454).
Is that possible with this 4th gen Camaro? Now im not talking about the V8s. I was wondering if there would be to many complications to drop, say a 3800 in the 93 base Camaro with a 5 speed? Is this easier then the v8 swap, or am I just a wishful thinker?

It is do able. A 3800 into a 93 wouldn't be as complicated as some of the wild swaps we have all seen or read about. With all of the correct parts I think it should be a pretty basic install as far as swaps go.
I'm sure others will chime in that have performed a similar transplant. I personally never have done any motor pulling or installing on a 4th gen. At least your looking at an engine that lives under the hood of plenty of 4th gens from the factory & not trying to smash a 502BBC in there!!

The biggest problem is having all the parts to go with it. Modern engines require the computer, wiring harness, correct transmission, and not to mention fitment issues. It's just because it's easier to control fuel trims that way and makes the car run better and reduces emissions.
But a 3800 would be very doable. Engine, trans, PCM, wiring harness from a 95 3800 (so you don't have any wiring issues to your dash). I'm not sure if the motor mounts will match up though. You'll have to ask someone with a little more experience with 3800 swaps because I've never done a 3.4 to 3.8 swap myself.
You would be better off swapping in an LT1. Engine, trans, PCM, wiring harness. After that it's a pretty straight forward swap. And you'll gnab an extra 100 hp over a 3.4 rather than the 40ish you'd get from a 3800

But basically should i just go with the lt1 instead?
