ENGINE SWAP--2001 truck 8.1 beast into a 2002 camaro?
Well, yes, I could put a semi diesel in a VW with enough money LOL I mean semi practical---no big mods to frame or anything.

There are a few big blocks 4th gens out there. You not building one with any type of GM parts in the swap, You would have to make a lot of parts, I think you would have to make the headers and all the accessory brackets. Trucks have way more space, your hood would need to be huge. Like a 6 inch cowl hood. If you are just a regular guy without a fabrication background and a small machine shop it would be much cheaper to sell everything you have and buy a 93 and a 6.0 or 6.2 out of some 2500 truck and a 2wd heavy truck transmission. The plus of the 93 is that its electrical system is more like 80's car without a body control modal and the 6.0 are the Same dimension as a LS1 so parts off the 98 Camaro V8 and up parts. You can use the frame and all the main parts. You can use the computer out of the truck.
Your 8.1 has some value and parting out the 2001 you could get pretty close on break even. You could even start with a 93 V6.
Messing with any 4th gen newer you have to deal with a lot of electronics. 94-97 get progressively more complicated. If you really want to do your 2001 there is a pin thread in the V6 that explains what needs done to swap in a 5.3 / 6.0 / 6.2. Most of the post are jokes but there is one that gives you a parts list.
Update-Dang it the post I was talking about was deleted by the original poster. That sucks cause it had part numbers for the custom wiring harness so you could use most of the V6 electronic.
