what are the casting numbers for the 5.7 LT1 guy says it is out of a caprice i just dont want to end up with the baby LT1 thanks i heard the last 3 digits should be 327? any help or 2 cents appreciated thanks

 

I don't have any official casting numbers, but a good rule is if the motor wasn't pulled from an F-Body or a Corvette it's not the 275/285 HP 350ci version, it's the smaller one. There could be exceptions obviously, but I don't know those off the top of my head...
