Electrical problems
Since the day I bought my Camaro I have had electrical issues with my lights. The blinkers only work about half the time and my tail lights tend to burn out about every six months to a year. Shortly after my side markers will go too. Any thoughts or suggestions?
First thing I'd do is check the charging system voltage. Better yet, pull the alternator and take it to Parts America, Advance, O'Reilly's, etc. to have it bench tested there.
Once that is taken care of I'd replace the turn signal switch (which is inside the steering column). There are contacts in there that pass current to the tail lamps when you're braking. You could have faulty contact that cause arcing (which would wipe out bulbs).

Are you using a thin layer of dielectric grease on the bulb connections? Do so, if not. Water is the enemy leading to corrosion of the connector and bulb. I have seen the bulb filaments completely rust away in fog lights on Camaros -- dielectric grease will help prevent that.
will replacing the turn signal switch fix the bright lights switch as well? I can turn them on and off, but it is difficult to get the switch to click. I think it is just worn out. I guess I am asking if it is the same switch?
the high low switch is not on the turn signal switch it is about 1/2 way down the column next to the ignition switch. There is an adjustment to the switch that you may try to adjust, (move the switch up the column a little) or I have seen the rocker inside the switch stick causing what you are complaining about. If adjusting does not work then try replacing the switch. The switch usually costs around $15.
