So after I tore down this engine, I realized thatthe previous owner must have never changed the oil.

baller lol. I just got done taking a part a sb 350 that had coolant/oil in the pan.. then i went and washed it in the parks washer, let it dry and came back with an airhose.. i put the hose in one hole and turned it on and rusty dust shot all in my face... i looked like a big oompa loompa execpt around my eyes were my goggles were lol.

 

ARe you sure it was a small block? hahahaha

 

... no i think it was a medium block......

 

Today when I dropped the heads and block off to be hot tanked, I stopped in my tracks. Sitting there on an engine stand was a Pontiac 350. Man, next to a Chevy, it was BIG.

 

the Caddy Northstar V8 is too and its a 4.2L. Its heads are like 2/3 the size of the engine.. then again its DOHC i think.

 

Have you ever seen the power those things put out? They are capable of serious horsepower. Chevey shoulda put them in the Camaro. @ least the supercharged ones.

 

The Northstars? They have certainly come along way for a 4.6L They have been awarded N. Americas best engine several times.
