Okay I've got a question, but it hasn't been answered in the Intake and Exhaust section, so I thought I'd try my luck here.

I'm ordering a Dynomax exhaust, straight piped from the cat. I know it'll be loud but I can throw on a muffler later. First off, have you guys heard of this? Is it a good brand? They said it's as close to true duals as I can get, because true duals on this car is tough and expensive. It's a 3" pipe from the cat and then splits into dual exhaust.

 

why can't you do dual exhuast? people do them all the time on these cars. most just go with 2.5" exhaust with their preference of muffler

 

Oh weird.. he said because fitment issues, and height clearance issues.. it would be tough and expensive to do it? Haha not sure.

Possible, yes. Monetarily smart, probably not. A good header/Y-pipe/3" cat-back setup can support over 500 HP, not sure why you would need true duals other than to say you have them...

for true duals and any 3 inch exhaust you need might need to get a panhard bar relocation kit. If the car is lowered, then it's a must, stock height you might be ok, depends how good the bends are.

 

I drive past a house almost everyday that has a green 4th gen that has true duals, but he has has the exhaust stop before the axle. it has muffler then small turndowns and just stops. When driving by and looking at it, there is no way that car can go in or out of any parking lot. But as far as a Dynomax system. My brother and I put some Dynomax mufflers on his nova and they had a great sound. Not sure which exact muffler they were, but I am thinking about buying one for my camaro now.

 

I haven't lowered my car, but I was thinking maybe I'd just lower the front.. that'd look pretty sweet in my opinion. And have big fatty tires on the back. But no at this point it's completely stock height.

weeda, I'll probably have to buy a muffler soon, so if you find one that sounds good, let me know because as of right now I'll be running a Dynomax off road Y pipe with no mufflers.
