Default Driverside window help...

Hi i have a 97 Z28 LT1. Auto trans.
I had put the driverside power window down and can not get it to go back up. I have changed the double window switch with a junk yard one and a new one and still no luck. Just the passenger side one goes up and down.

I have been searching for help but no luck. i am not sure if it s the motor or a short or bad harness somewhere.

Any help would be greatly appreciated. It's cold driving with the window open 24/7. lol THANKS

You simply have a worn motor or regulator. This is very common, and not too hard to replace. I would get the whole regulator and motor together, since you have to remove the regulator to get to the motor any way. Yea it will cost a little more but it is worth the extra $$ to me.

Oh you can try to pull up on the motor as you hit the switch. You may not get the window up all the way the first try but wait a few minutes and the breaker will reset and you will get a couple seconds more to try again.

Probably burned up window motor, I've gone thru 2 now. Check for voltage at the switch but commonly those motor fail often. Here is a good link that helped me:

Alright thanks for the help. ill try to get window up by tapping on it first and most likely replace window motor and regulator.
I just didnt understand it it was working fine then i went to go put it up and nothing. so i got a replacement switch and still nothing. So hopefully its just the motor. Thanks.

Also one other thing the ABS INOP light is on as well as brake and asr i believe.
Could that be a bad wheel sensor or somthing. the guy i bought car from said it has a different rear in it. Im not sure how to tell if its stock or not. any help would be greatly appreciated.

check the window switch to see if your getting power out to the motor. need to check the rearend for abs and tracktion control and check the cars wiring to see if it has harnesses for tc on each wheel or to the center section (abs) only. if there are not the same or are not hooked up at all that would explain it

I am in the process of reapiring window/ door right now.
Soon as i took the door panel off i noticed it had already been hacked up and motor was replaced. But the fiber glass inner panel was all tore up and bolts were out to hold regulator and motor was jammed up.
I cant figure out how the motor lines back up. i cant get it to go on. But im going back out see if i can finish the job
