Do you'll exp. A/C going out while accelerating
I have searched through several threads and gotten some feedback. My car 99 v6 5spd camaro. When I accelerate the a/c goes. I been told this is common in shift in power. Do you all experience this.

AC compressor will kick out if the WOT (wide open throttle) switch is presses. How well is your system working? If you are low on freon the compressor can get kicked out by the low pressure switch.

I just posted to this thread and now it is gone and the thread is messed up... oh well here goes.
Your A/C does not go away it just changes direction.
When you are accelerating or at WOT your engine does not produce much vacuum, this causes the vacuum servos to return to their no-vacuum state which is in our cars defrost. When you are on it the door closes and your A/C goes to the windshield, once you back off the throttle you get the vacuum back and the A/C returns to the vents.
There is a vacuum can under the frame rail near the battery that is there to help prevent this from happening. Make sure that it is hooked up and not leaking or broken. If it is then replace it and the problem should not be as bad. Also check the hoses that control the vacuum for the heater. THere is one connection behind the glove box that has 6 or so hoses into it and if that one is not connected all the way the doors will not work right, and you may get the same problem.
Good luck with this one.

I have a similar issue. My A/C, or anything coming out of the dash vents, seems to quit when I get on it. After a few seconds, or if I let off, the dash vents seem to work normally.
I didn't know about the vacuum ball under the battery, I'll have to check that out and see how it looks.
