Default Discount parts places?

I know about Ebay but other than that are there good places to find parts for discount, used parts. Im in CHicago area.

Does scouring junkyards for things like hoods and grilles and dual exhaust make sense? Or does posting "looking for rk sport grille" on this forum work well? What other than Ebay is a good source? Want to upgrade my ride, but its just a v6 and I dont have bundles of cash.... nor do I dont wanna be the noodle brained ricer that spends $30K in upgrades to TRY and compete with an SS. Just buy the SS to begin with dumb-****!

Try Craigslist too... also some other message boards have classified sections, like LS1tech, etc.

I rather use E_bay as a last resort, never really sure of what is going to show up in the mail. Local junk yards are fine if want to do some searching. Some will even hunt up the part you want by using a nation wide inventory system that ties in most good junk yards, but then the price goes up because more than one person needs to make a profit.

I also use car-parts dot com. you can put your zip in and it will tell you all your local junk yards that have that part in stock. Its been pretty helpful. Of course, thats for regular stock parts. Sometimes you can call them and they have after market parts too.
