Hi all,

I just wanted to check the correct fluid for the power steering.

Is it Dextron 2?

The fluid guide I found on here says

"Power steering fluid: Top off, Type GM hydraulic power steering fluid"

Would Dextron 2 be ok?

They don't make Dexron II any more. All makes and models power steering fluid will work fine. Valvoline and Prestone both make it.

 

dex will work, steering fluid is better formulated for it

Use power steering fluid.

 

Ive got nothing against using power steering fluid but here in england I am having trouble finding anything not dex rated.

Is dex 2 going to be ok?

If you can still get Dex II over there, it'll work, but Dex II was superseded by Dex III and that by Dex VI long ago. Other than that, really any bottle that says power steering fluid will work, so long as it's not the "Honda" stuff.
