Default dash guage cluster overlay issues!!!

My camaro is a 98 Z28 and I just installed a new dash overlay that has a white face with blue lights when its on. It looks great for I am not a fan on the stock red numbers. My issue is that I have wired it into the parking light power the way the manual says, and ground it into that as well. There are 2 red wires for the parking light power (and yes I tried both) but no matter what I try with it I can't turn the overlay off, turn the parking lights on or off the overlay stays on and the bracket to the dimmer know for the overlay discharges a small electrical current when I touch it. Also, the manual says not to connect to the cars dimmer switch because it will permanently burn the light out as the manual says. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Yeah, mine specifically said not to. But I figured it out and its the brown wire for anybody who may stumble across the same problem. Brown is not a constant power source as opposed to the 2 reds and one orange

I can't. For some reason the admin hasn't made my account official. All I can do is post words and links, as well as read others posts
