Default Guage cluster help!

Hey so I'm brand new - just registered - but an old hand with camaros. I've got an original '69 Z with factory cross ram including the original factory glass hood, and a '72 Z all matching that I'm about to start a resto on which is why I've registered. I've owned both cars for around 30 years. Anyway here's the question. - I'm gonna seek off some stuff that I don't need any more including a couple 2nd gen gauge clusters. They both have a 7 grand tach with 6 grand redlines, one is with a 130 speedo and one with a 150. Any idea what they are for? Was told they are for Z's but my '72 has an 8k tach so I'm guessing not. Thx John p

All cars got a 130mph until 79. Then it was 85. The 150 is for 70-73 I believe. I would be interested in the 150 for the right price.

Yep, the 150 is for the early 2nd gens with V8's.

Thx gentlemen! For reference my 72 Z has a 130 speedo and a 8k tach with a 6500 redline. Was 150 prior to '72? Also the 6k redline on a 7k tach - I think on first gen base motors - 350/300 or 396/325 they had 5500 redlines? I need to brush up n second gen before I get to far in to this project!

My '71 big block is a 150 MPH speedo. Not sure if they had optional speedos, so maybe they changed in '72? Might also have something to do with which gear ratio the car was ordered with. Mine was ordered with 2.74 rear gear.
