Could use a little help over here
I have admired American muscle car all my life. And know a few things about them but by all means not an expert or have ever had the time or resources to be an enthusiast, but until the other day I have never really hear of the RS camaro. Of course I know the sweet SS and bad boy Z28 but not the RS. I understand it is only a appearance pack offered nothing really to do with performance. But in terms of value and rarities I am lack in have or finding much data. I only ask because I have resonly been but in a position to acquire one at a seemingly good to great price. But before I put my hard earned money into anything except what I can't live without I need infomation on if it's a good deal. So I reaching out for help it's supposedly 2000 4th gen Camaro RS convertible the L38 V6 automatic leather almost 151,000 miles. But not entirely sure it's stock base off of exhaust and air intake system no k &n filter but possibly a throttle body blaster. I real haven't had much time to look it over. Not mint but runs good and only minor cosmetic damages no dents but a little worn paint, cracked dash, and a torn seat. So my real question is what would it buyer value be, it's rarity, and are there and issue I should look at before I purchase it and becomes a money pit. Thanks if you need any other info. On this vehicle to get as actually as possible let me know I will try to get it.

Well much depends on the market in your area or the area the car is for sale in.
Craigslist ads are a pretty good way to get a feel for the market keeping in mind asking price is usually a little higher than selling price after negotiations.
Looks like it's at a dealer judging by the sticker in the window, dealers are typically asking the highest prices because they will finance cars.
If you are a cash buyer I'd look at private party sales to at least compare.
If I were to shoot from the hip I'd say ball park price is between $2000 and $3000 for a good runner. Maybe a little more with less miles and in better cosmetic shape.

It is going to be tuff to value it because it is clone. GM or SLP did not make a RS in 2000. GM made the RS 1996-1997, SLP made the RS 2001-2002. Most of the parts that made up the RS where still available but the RS as a packed did not exist in 2000, Someone just added the badges just like they added the SS hood.
Cars with the rear spoilers and ground effect are ordered by the appearance package option. Appearance package could be ordered on any camaro in 2000 and should be on the options sticker as Y3F. Normally I would say this would add about $500 to the value of the V6 car but in this case the hard to find parts are missing (the front pieces to the ground effects kit) You will not find GM parts for this without shelling out big money since they are discontinued at GM and they are commonly broken. Combine that with the front nose paint not matching and damage and the damage to the other parts of the ground effects kit and drivers fender, this car should sell under NADA or Kelly value or it should sell in the poor condition side of the value. In fact to fix all the body defects and paint everything to match would cost more then its worth unless you DIY it. You may not mind the defects but they will effect the value.
You would definitely want to get this car checked out by a pro. Tops leak, floors rust out, the top itself may need replaced. If it needs a new top and has a head gasket going bad it could easily cost you 4K in repairs almost right away. Old tops can not and should not be repaired. I have heard salesmen say they can but they can't you should have it checked at a top shop. They can estimate life left. DIY top replace is a bad idea.
