Converting from Mustangs to Camaros
Ok guys, I have been the biggest mustang fan (5.0 especially) in the past couple of years. Unfortunatly the mustang has been wrecked and I have a chance to get a nice 96 z28. Just like I have counted on my mustang brothers from mustang forums for help in the past I know need your guys help with a camaro. Please let me know your thoughts and opinions on this car and remember I know nothing about camaros so PLEASE feel free to let me in on any information or any thought on this car or on camaros in general. Thanks alot guys. Check out the link.
sorry the link didn't work the first time. Here it is http://www.autotrader.com/fyc/vdp.js...mp;cardist=245
I would be very wary of this car and/or seller. He's got it listed as having an LS1 in it but doesn't show any engine pics. IF it has an LS1 the price is too good to be true. I'd ask him/her some very pointed questions about the drive train.
Smart switch over I agree with 98 ss that car has the lt1 motor not as strong of a motor stock i would spend a little extra and get a 98 or above they have the ls1 motor mine has 130,000 and motor still runs like a champ not saying the lt1 motor is bad just personally i like the ls1 alot better also i think the car looks cleaner with the rounded lights but thats just me
I'd go and check out the car at least, if the guy doesn't know very much about it and it actually has an LT1 you can probably point that out and get the car for less. That being said, the LS1 is a better platform to build on, the LT1 is great, the LS1 is exceptional. I personally would never buy an LS1 Camaro because I think the 93-97 look a lot better, that's why I have one
It doesn't hurt to look at the car. There's a thread in the regular 4th gen section on how to tell the different motors appart that was just posted up today, so go check it out. Good Luck!
