The only thing I don't like about this is the filter is completely opened. This car goes through a puddle, especially since it's lowered, and you got water going into the engine. Other than that, not bad.

get an elbow and get rid of the donkey dong

that rig will work just fine as it's no different from the ebay items except it's pvc so it won't soak heat from under the hood which is even better.

If you change the cam and do head work is when you want to consider smoothing the flow but for bolt on cars you're fine and better than the stock box

i bought the 40 dollar CAI kit off ebay and slapped my extra AEM Dryflow filter on it.. the ebay cai is the same size as my AEM intake for mazdaspeed 6. but like 8 times cheaper lol
