Lol. If it crapped out on me I'd crap on the hood of my car and leave it there. $550 that's cheap. My clutch and throwing alone was $500. Then pilot bearing and flywheel and bolts and release I'll be pushing $650-$700. I'm hoping my dad still has his clutch tool. Otherwise I'll have to buy one and chances are they'll be $20 up here.

I thought I hit quads a while ago? I guess I should of bought a 6 speed. Still kicking myself 4 years later for not doing that. Ohwell. Guess I'll just have one bad a$$ 5 speed 6 banger.

All this work is making me want to just pull the engine and redo all my gaskets, pistons, cam, rockers, springs and push rods. Then get a turbo set up started. Only if I had the money.

Maybe this will help you decide about the slave/release: Murphy Laws Site - Murphy Laws

Well I can understand wanting a V8 but not because they are easy to work on. With the exception of the release bearing the V8’s are tougher to work on. I am in the process of installing headers on my 93 LT1 and even with the motor out it is a pain. Fricken Air injection stuff is everywhere. It is going to all be in the garbage can when I am done but they integrated the EGR system which I am going to need it for inspection.
Hardest part about putting headers on my 3800, with it out of the car, was I had to set my beer down to put the goop on the threads of the bolt.

This is why I need a garage.. I dont have an engine lift to hook to engine to lower or lift the engine so im having to install my headers whilst the engine is in. I tell you, pain in my a$$.

Lol. If I got a V8 it would have been a gen2.

My engine light started flashing at me today after work so been talking to the wife and might just pull the engine and buy a car to get me around until this one is working great. We'll se what happens. Would love to rip the motor out and get it rebuilt or even redo all gaskets since they are weeping like a hungry baby.

I'm not that bad. Just have a mortgage, suv payment, insurance and all other house costs.

I think that is about it.
Is the release bearing the same as the throw out bearing? Or is it 2 different things?
I'm going to order up the flywheel and slave hopefully get the flywheel bolts aswheel. I've seen that dorman has the bolts so hopefully I won't have to go to gm. Anything else that I might need please add. My clutch is toast so the sooner I can get the list the sooner I can replace it.
