Clicking in engine
2002 Camaro SS, SLP. 21,000 miles. Engine has a clicking sound at low RPM's, sounds like a lifter is bad. This click is not all of the time but most of the time. Have there been any problems with these lifters in the 2002 LS engines? This Camaro did set up for about 2 years in 2017 and 2018.
Thanks in advance.

Only when cold coolant temp or all the time, up through operating temp? LS's are known having piston slap at cold temps(?)
Mine has 31K miles and it rattles(?) until at operating temp, at least in lower volume.
Let's read what others suggest.

My old '93 LT1 had noisy lifters but I never heard any noise out of my '01 LS,car had 86K miles on it when I bought it and I drove it very little before a bunch of mods.
What few times I drove it before a head swap and cam/lifter upgrade it did run quiet though.
I have a pretty lumpy cam now with LS7 lifters,no ticking or rattles even when cold, currently 92K miles on the clock.
Are you sure it's not something simple like and exhaust leak? I chased a tick in the 454 my pickup has in it for a while, turned out to be a header gasket much to my relief.

Could also be a noisy fuel injector. Also, are you running full synthetic oil? If not, I suggest you do. I had bought a Camaro in the past that had been sitting for over a year, had a very noisy lifter noise until it warmed up. A short while after I changed the oil, using synthetic, the noise went away. Synthetic oil can be good like that, freeing up the gummy stuff.
If you're referring to a piston slap noise until the engine warms up, that's considered normal for the LS engine. It's due to having short skirt light weight pistons, along with greater than "normal" cold engine piston to cylinder clearances. Once the engine gets up to temperature, all the stars align.
