i have a 99 ss 6 speed. im gonna drop some money on it soon and i was wondering whats the cheapest (but reliable) way to 450+ hp?

another thing i was wondering was price. sorry i didnt say that the first time. and bad influence what do u mean stall?

 

Stall converter...it actually wont add any hp but it will make your car faster

 

lol. i know what a stall converter is. i just thoguht u meant something else cuz i said it was a 6 speed.

I don't know the price for a heads, valvetrain, cam build for a LS1 is...for a 3.8 it's around $2,500 for a competitive setup

 

yeah im intrested in this as well. ive got about 6k to work with on an engine rebuild. or buy a turn key crate motor.

 

IMO, if you want a streetable 450HP go for a supercharger and a good tune. You can make the same power or even more with a normally aspirated engine, but now you wind up with an engine that is basically a PIA in normal street driving.

 

Cheapest way to go faster without a doubt, nitrous & slicks or drag radials. Keep in mind any LS1 stock makes or is close to 350 at the crank, add 100 shot and some tires and you have a 12 second car easy.
