Ive been having troubles recently somtimes when im on the throttle it wont shift from 1-2 and 2-3. It only happens somtimes. I plan on putting in a shift kit and a new seperater plate next weekend. What else could i replace to fix it from not shifting?

 

Do you mean it wont shift at all? Or its hard to get it into gear? I know sometimes mines would do that, I would have a hard time shifting it and it ended up being a sticky clutch. But im not sure exactly whats wrong with yours, kind of like the shifter is sticking or locking up.

well its an auto i think your talking about a manual. but anyways just sometimes it hits the rev limiter when im on the throttle all the way and i really hate to hear that sound. Its usually when ive been driving for a while. maybe i need a transcooler?

 

Is the tranny fluid low?

 

Havent checked that but im putting in my shift kit next weekend so im gonna change it then and see what happens. Any ideas what else i should put in while im down their? ive got a new seperater plate already.

 

Check the tranny fluid level first - only take 5 minutes.

 

Im having trouble with my 1993 cadillac, it has a hard time shifting, and sometimes doesnt drop down into first gear, its either the speed sensor or a shift solenoid, cause it gets bad when I do alot of city driving.

how many quats of tranny fluid does it take? im gonna try that. otherwise what else could it be?
