Car turns as if to start, but when then dies
I have a 93 V6 Camaro. I've had it for almost 2 months now. When I bought it, the previous owner told me that there was a censor that was damaged and in order to make it run without spending much money, they put a "resistance" so it would turn on and run.
Everything was fine until 4 days ago when the gauges started going crazy and they car would turn off as if I had taken the clutch out on 1st gear. Not only that, 2 days ago it decided to just not turn on anymore. It's been sitting at my parents house and I have no idea what's going on.
I know it needs 3 things to turn on, air, gas and electricity. Electricity is good, with a brand new battery and alternator. The starter is also working fine (as far as I know).
Does anyone have an idea of what exactly is going on?? I'm getting desperate at this point

Did they say what sensor? The only sensor I can think of that you put a resistance to is the knock sensor, but that wouldn't cause a no start.
Is the security light on/flashing at all when you try starting it? It should come on when you first turn the key, but should shut off shortly after. If it's staying on, then VATS are what you're gonna want to look into. The VATS system will prevent the starter from engaging as well as the injectors from firing.
