Car lift damaging the front fender
I have a 1999 SS and took it to an ASME certified shop. They put my car on a lift to do the front brakes and when I got it home I noticied the bottom of the front fenders by the doors buldging out. I look under the car and the lip where the fender connects is bent or broken down.
Has anyone else had this experience?

Yeah, not a big deal as long as nothing cracked. The lower metal bracket just got bent up, which puts pressure on the plastic fender and bulges it out. It's easy to oops slightly off the jacking point and hit the lower fender part, and you're not the first one to have this happen to. You may be able to tweak the bracket back down as it sits, otherwise you'll need to detach where the lower fender mounts to the bracket, then bend it back down and reattach the fender mount.

I would take it back and see what they said. It is a very common issue. When i was shopping for a 4th gen I would say 1 in 5 and some damage in that area. My 96 was a easy fix but my 93 fender cracked so it going to be a pain.

I made that mistake during the winter to my car. Was in a hurry to put the wheels on and did not think before I lifted the car. I just detached the fender from the mount and then bent it down again and then put the fender on again.
Did not get it 100% but I´m gonna fix it perfect this winter

i see it all the time. thats why gm stamped DO NOT LIFT HERE into the fender. no one reads it and thinks its a pinch weld. bend down what you can with pliers or a screw driver then hammer it straight. if the fender breaks, i also see them screwed into the rocker panel with self tappers. but definatly take it back immediatly
