car knocks

RE: car knocks
Probably worn out bearings or low oil pressure. Oil thins out as it gets hot, which in turn casuses the oil pressure to drop. If the bearings or the oil pump are worn out the oil pressure wont hold as the engine gets hot, causing bearing knock. This will eventually result in a spun bearing or even a thrown rod. Assuming you are now using the recommended oil weight, you can try heavier grade oil as a temporary fix.

RE: car knocks
Mileage isn't the only key factor. If the engine was not properly broken in/machined then this issue can come up earlier. Pete gave good advice - a thicker oil will help silence the problem, but won't cure it.

RE: car knocks
I have the same problem. Just rebuilt my engine. with just about 3k on it. Low knock noise only after car gets warm and is not noticable all the time. Next oil change will be going to straight 30weight. Hopefully helps. Will let U know
