car keeps reving

Question car keeps reving

so i put my lt headers in and wen i turned my car on it was just reving by itself i didn't touch the mass air flow sensor at all i took out the egr hose could it be from that? could it be the timming?

check your O2 sensors, now that you've got better air flow, you could've burnt one or both of them. Also, make sure all your sensors dealing with air flow are clean. I'd also consider replacing the TPS

whats the tps? how hard would that be?

Throttle positioning sensor. if the little arm inside of it breaks the car will rev up, then let off, then rev up, then let off. You get the picture.

yea thats what it was doing how would i fix that?

change that sensor and it should fix it, or at least take it off and look at it. google it as I've never changed it on an LS1. also, I'm sure everyone is tired of reading me post this, but clean the IAT sensor. that is another possible cause here. DON'T USE WD-40!!! use throttle body cleaner.

ok so theres no way it can be because of the egr hose and that little black thing it connects to? i took those off but didnt put it back in and theres a hole now right behind my tb

Why didnt oyu put the egr line back on? if nothing else you should cap it Im sure that could easily cause idle problems with the engine sucking in random amounts of air.

there is no place on the header for me to put it on but i did just cap it off and its fine now thanks for the help....now i just need a new y pipe cuz mine dont fit on the header because i think it needs cats but it already cant pass smog so i need a off road y pipe...its just one problem after the next lol
