Car died while driving. No power??
I was on my way to work and all of a sudden the car shuts off. Tried to start it and it won't turn over. Just "clicks" had it towed home and checked it out more. Here's what it does.
I turn the key to the on position and everything is normal. When i try to start it everything dies. Radio, lights, headlights everything. And when i turn the key off i can hear my power locks click like i had hit the unlock button. Acts like everything is resetting itself maybe?
And i figured it was a dead battery but i went and bought one and just put it in and still doing the same thing.
What else could it be? Bad wire? Alternator?

what year and motor, take the battery cables off and wire brush the heck outa the cable ends and the battery terminal, there is a power junction (red plastic) box on the passenger side fender well, unhook the wires and wire bush them and hook back up as well. there is a ground junction next to the power box may as well do it too. check all the cables to the motor for damage or lose connection. the main ground is sorta under the passenger side motor mount.

a bad starter will drain power very fast. once the voltage gets so low the starter will not engage. is the wire to the starter hot after doing this. should run from starter to the battery or the power junction box. not sure with the 3.8. get the volt meter out and start testing. test volts at the battery, at the junction box, at the starter, at your fuse box and at your ignition switch.
