Default Can these be done if so how?

1) My car has the headlights that come on automatically at night when you start the car. Can you turn them off while in this mode. The problem comes when approaching the guard house. We are supposed to dim headlights.

Alternately can the feature be disabled?

2) The car didn't come with keyless entry remotes but it's hard to believe it doesn't have the feature considering all the other options.

Any way short of buying a remote to tell if the remote entry is there?
I know on my Mustang, the module was in the left rear trunk if the system was installed.

Why not just approach the guard house with your brights on. Then when you switch to your low beams, you are "dimming" the lights.

Is it the same for all years? Mine is a '97, the year they changed the interior. It would be real nice to be able to run the heater/defroster at the drive in!

M4....good one, that sure would do the trick though! Is "I'm sorry but my car won't do that" not good enough for the M4 wielding guardsman?
What am I missing here? How does hot-wiring in place of the sensor (which completes the circuit) allow him to turn the headlights off. Wouldn't you want to leave the sensor out and not put a jumper wire in it's place?

I think the circuit is designed to fail to headlights on. The photo cell must complete the circuit above a certain light level. When the light drops low enough the cell circuit opens turning the lights on. Might be De-energizing a relay.

By 2003 Chevy had fixed this. My 03 dually has the auto light circuit but one extra switch setting. moving the switch from Auto reverts it back to manual control.

maybe I could add a switch to go back and forth. Would be a pretty simple circuit.

hooknladder if you turn the car off pull the ebrake and start the car the headlight will not turn on.
