Default It can be done!!!!!!!

Yes you can remove the engine from the top. Not easy, but it can be done. It was a V6 by the way.

I must not have been a part of that poll. You have to take the intake manifold off?

Along with the heads and exhaust manifolds. At least the drivers side. I was able to leave the passengers side on.

Well you did'nt ask everyine, because I remove LS1's out the the top all the time. I leave the heads on, pull the intake, water pump, radiator, and balancer. I can do it in about 5 hours.

Because, unless you have a lift it is a big pain, and kinda dangerous. Personally I thinks it's more of a pain pulling motors out the bottom, I have done both and would rather pull them out the top.
