Can anyone please tell me what that rod is that is circled in red? I was changing brakes and rotors earlier and noticed that rod or whatever it is was almost broke in half. I need to replace it but don't know what it would be called. Thanks
BTW this is a pic from the net, but thats what it looks like on my 94 3.4

That is the sway bar. It is a very good thing to have dont remove it! The rod part is the sway bar end link. They cost about $15 each and come with new bushings.

ok..after what you've told me I've just realized I have a major problem! It's not the sway bar end link...its the sway bar itself that is broke... it's broke right before the end link. wow that sucks!

You can find them in wrecking yards for just a few bucks. If you have a local pick-n-pull head over there for a scavenger hunt.
Measure your's before you go and make sure you get one the same diameter.

Sounds like your sway bar rusted through. It's a hollow tube that is pinched flat at the ends. There's a vent hole punched into the tube at each end and water can enter there. As Grandpas says, pull one from a similar year Camaro or Firebird at a local salvage yard. The parts book seems to show that the same parts were used from 93-2002 but you do need to know whether or not your car has HD suspension.

ok I just finished the passenger side brakes and notice that the sway bar is snapped completely at the end link on that side, and I pulled on the end link and it just came right out. So my sway bar is useless. Time to find one at a junk yard I guess.
