Default Can Anyone Help?

I have a '94 Z28. I've had some problems with it recently where it sputters and sounds like a backfire sometimes. It is a lot worse when it warms up though. It won't even pull itself and will die. I literally had to push it into a parking lot the other day. Sometimes it's hard to start, other times it will start right up. When I'm driving it sputters and feels like it's missing. Any suggestions would be much appreciated.

This sounds really stupid, but does a '94 Z28 have coils? And if so, could these be the problem? And where are they? If you comment about this, the more detail the better for me. Thanks!

I had a 94 Z and it did kinda the same thing and after a lot of dealer B.S they replaced the distributor at first they did a coil pack and that did nothing the distributor did the trick , try to get it taken care of quick if you let it go it can clog your cat and thats a big problem.

Well, I've had the car for about two years and have never changed the plugs and wires. I don't know how long before that it was. I'm not sure how often they're supposed to be changed but I guess it'd probably be about time. Anyone think it may be the cat converter that's causing this problem? I do have a rattle thats gotten worse recently coming from my exhaust, specifically from the cat converter region.

Normally when the Cat plugs up its just a drop in power. Many times the car idles great. They have to be real bad before they effect idle.

See, it idles perfectly. When it's in park and I hit the accelerator hard it hesitates really bad. When I gradually give it more gas while it's in park, it's perfectly fine.
