on a stock motor you can gain hp and mpg by tuning. keep it on topic guys, we are not in ot.

 

thats true the best way to gain better performance with a pure stock engine is to tune it along with tuning you can try some air filters they can give you little bit of gain in HP but for the most a chip will never grant your car significant HP gain they are just gimmicks craby is right

 

Alright I will try to find a way to get this tuned Idk If any shops around my area can do It but I dont feel like using that guys site because Its all confusing and Im sure I can find someone In minnesota Instead of out In nc. Are you guys saying that Its best to get this done after I do mods to the car. Or wont It matter. I am going to be replacing the muffler along with tail pipes and thinking about getting a slp air Intake but dont wanna spend the money. But are you saying that I should tune the computer after I do all the mods because that would get the best of It. Or wont It matter either way thanks.

 

i was just about to start a thread with this question, b/c i just took my maro drag racing, and i was dissipointed, whenever i hammer the gas, it takes a about a mil-second before my car actually goes anywhere

 

Have you found anything as far as tuning a computer.

 

You can tune a bone stock car, and if the tuner is good, you will get improvements. Whether you will be able to feel anything in the seat of your pants is debatable.

However, you won't get the best out of any mods running a stock factory tune. To get the absolute most from your mods, you will need to tune the computer.

Some mods greatly affect potention performance. Things like a CAI, bigger throttle body, larger injectors, cams, heads, etc can really make some power when done properly.

Other mods, are more for bench racing than anything else. Power adder chips, any number of things to install in the intake to "turbo" the air/fuel charge, fuel additives, etc are only going to make you faster by lightening your wallet.

 

I take It your basically saying that If I am going to get a tune that I should tune the car after I do any mods, that would be best.

 

Yes. That would be the general consensus from most people. But, plan your mods carefully so that they all work together.

Do a search through the forums and you will find other guys who have modded the 3.4. They would be better able to answer your modding questions.

Ask questions, and pay careful attention to the answers. The V6 section will contain a ton of hard won knowledge that is yours for the asking. Especially from the guys who have been around these cars for years. They can and will do everything to help you not make the mistakes they made.

Modding a car is expensive. It is even more expensive if you have to do the same mods more than once because of poor choices.

 

I looked under there to see If I could find anything on slp cold air Intake for my car but didnt find threads for that.

 

Try searching for "CAI" or "cold air intake". Don't limit your searches for a specific brand if you can avoid it. If you get ten pages of results, then redo the search to be a little more specific.
