Cam Questions
Crane Cams 444232
My bad, it is a bit off from the one I had. The number above is the cam I'm running in my truck. It's a 206/214 @ .050 and a .448/.464 valve lift. Got them a little mixed up. The one I was describing was my last cam in my old motor. I remember that one because it was the first time I ever started doing anything with cams. It had a 112* lobe sep though. 204/214 duration @.050 and .448/.472 valve lift. Sorry, got two cam's mixed up a bit but doesn't seem bad just for a "basic" description?

u HAVE to be quoting full duration on that. 26x duration at .05 is enormous. for reference, the biggest cams you find for LS1's out there are in the 240's (T-rex cam) @ .05". my cam is 232/234 and if you saw the vid i posted the car just drools on itself at idle from all of the overlap. however, thats a 290's full duration cam. also, your lift specs were pretty small which is what made me think you were quoting full lift. a mid 400's is stock cam territory, which would be a low low 200s duration cam @ .05. coincidentally, that corresponds to 260s full duration.
Yeah, it's 206/214 @.05 and for the ford stock cam I believe it was a 22x lift and I also ran 1.7 rockers vs the 1.6 stockers. Also, my stock cam was a roller but I didn't want to spend the money on another roller and my roller lifters were shot so there was around $300 for the cam and another $300 or so for the lifters. Roller cam's usually have a larger duration but a smaller lift I believe, or am I backwards on that? You're confusing me... I'll figure it out... But it was more to describe the workings of a cam. May not be "specific" but I think it gave a heck of an idea on how they "function" know what I mean?
