Default Cam

Ok i have a 94 z28 with the 5.7 lt1. I have hooker headers and flowmaster exhaust. My question is where and what cam should i get for this car. I want the most hp possible for a good price and a nice sound If anyone could tell me where to look for this and give me a way to go that would be great
Thanks

You need to do a little more research on cams before you go out buying one. If you want the maximum HP you're not going to be able to take the car on the street, there are trade-offs to everything. That being said there are oodles of threads about LT1 cams and heads etc. They all basically boil down to one thing; look into getting a full head/cam package that fits your need.

Alot of people go through Lloyd Elliott due to lower prices, but if you want to go with the best quality heads/cam package with more consistant results, check out http://www.advancedinduction.com.

I have a set of the 200 cc dominator heads that will be installed once the 383 is built.

If you plan on going cam only, I recommend comp cams CC503, it is a good all around cam. Make sure you get the proper valve train upgrades.

You could have 237498237492387 horses and it would still be street legal. What he meant is that the more aggressive the cam (meaning it potentially makes more power), the less streetable it is. Meaning much more difficult to drive in any way other than WOT (drag strip).

i hope you understand everything else that you will need to do this stuff. roller rockers, studs, probably guide plates, gaskets, pushrods, probably different spark plugs, different injectors, and a tuning source

and i see in a different thread you want 700 horses. you won't get that just from a heads and cam. better build a forged 383 and supercharge or gas it
