Bypass Thread.
I fond that Lt1 has many bypasses.
TB bypass.
Oil filter bypass.
Security bypass.
is there any bypass also?
I found in my car that the oil bypass was made and there was not any consequences!
the car never get more hot from this operation. beside the RAD plastic side for F-LT1 is different, even the Water pump. so its hard to find such RAD side and Water pump specially for F-body.
and the triple heads hose in 1994-1993 is also a rare peace to find (TB bypass).
considering the security, I found there is no need to match the same resistor the key has to bypass, just put any resistor in the range of GM resistors and the car would identify it when u done your work put the car ON and wait for 10 minuets ( in my car took 20) to make the security light stop blinking.
REgrads :-)

He's not talking about bypassing the oil filter, he's talking about removing the factory prevision to bypass a clogged filter, so that all oil flows through the filter.

nope its the oil cooler bypass. you remove the oil cooler from between the filter and block and run a hose from the radiator to the water pump. thats what i did. i have a larger oil pan and a remote oil filter so i figure the oil would stay cool as when the oil cooler was in there.

Fyi, when the LT1 came out in 92 in the Vette, GM stopped using the oil cooler, but instead they put Mobil 1 oil in the engine to make up for it.
Performance minded guys see an oil cooler as an enhancement, why would you want to go out of your way to remove it?
