I want to buy a camaro or firebird with a Ls1 and 6 speed.

What car would be a better buy between these 2 assuming they both cost $8000?

1998 Camaro Z28 LS1
or
1998 BLACK CAMARO (This one doesn't include stereo for $8000)

I like the black one because it is a SS but not sure about the color. I like the red one because it looks really clean but I dont like the wheels, hood or wing and its just a z28. I would have to put money into both to make how I want. The Black one would need new interior pieces and a stereo. On the red one I would buy new wheels, SS hood and wing. What do you guys think based on all that? Also what are a few tips when buying one of these?

If I had the money for the black one, I would buy the red one and invest the extra into new wheels, spoiler, etc. But I am partial to red cars, even if they are "just Z28's"....

 

I like the black one better. Bkack and tan is much classier than red and grey imo.... and who cares about the stereo? thats all just added weight and stupid garbage back there anyway.

 

Personally I wouldn't base it on the looks as both are very nice looking cars. I'd drive both and base it on the condition of what's under the hood. History etc

I'd just go with the SS. The resale value for it will be better than a Z28, but personally, I'd dump the system it has in it. That's just over kill for the car.

 

The audio system won't be going with the black one.

also, what is the cost to own a V8 camaro compared to a 3.8 V6? Both manual.
