I bought my Camaro without original front blinkers . It has some square blinkers . One wasn’t working. I wired it but it just stays on . It comes on with the headlights, I doubt it’s related to being wired with the headlights but could have missed something . The dashboard arrow blinks just fine.

 

Sounds like you wired it to the running/park light.
