Default Black Salad Shooters?

If the weather here in glorious Ohio is nice tomorrow, I will be painting my Salad Shooter rims black. I figure that a $20 investment into these rims instead of paying hundreds for a set of already black rims would be much nicer on my bank account. I plan to post pictures before, during, and after the project. Any techniques that could help are appreciated!

When you think you've sanded them good enough, pour atone on them, and sand them again, rinse and repeat

If you want the silver lip like mine prepare for at least 30 minutes of taping per wheel, don't rush it or they will look retched and uncircular

Default Black Salad Shooters!

The first picture is the paint I used. Duplicolor Perfect Match: Factory Black and Wheel Clear Coat.

The second is of the wheel sanded, washed, polished, and ready to go. This took me the longest out of anything due to the fact that I am a perfectionist and it had to be just right. The cards are to prevent the tire from being painted.

The third is a picture of the wheel directly after painting.

The last picture is all four wheels, painted and clear coated without the caps.

The last is the final product.

I will try to get pictures with them on my car tomorrow.

I would have never thought to do the cards thing. Not a fan of painted salad shooters, but you did an awesome job!

They look great, but I prefer chrome. Maybe it's because I'm prone to shiny objects.

I think the salad shooters are butt ugly with one exception, when they are chrome.

I still would not want them on my car but chrome does make them look better.

Really dumb question and I don't mean to hijack the thread but why are they called salad shooters lol?

The only bad thing is even black salad shooters are still salad shooters. But look like you did a good job painting them, you get a gold star.

Because they look like the blade part in the "Salad Shooter" chopper that chops up veggies.
