A bit impressed with the 3.8
I was at a red light and launched a bit agressively, when the Monte Carlo SS behind me shot past me like I was sitting still. I have the garbage rear gear most sixers have and he left me. He stayed at around 70mph and I eventually caught him and once along side, we both floored it. I got it up to 110 mph before we had to slow for the next light. The SS also has a 3.8 if I remember correctly, but what an impressive run! We stayed side by side the whole time. I was only at around 3000 rpm.
My car is bone stock.

Buicks and Pontiac have had the Super charger since 96, I think. Its one of the most common ask question on this forum. Can I put a FWD Super charger on my 3.8. Everyone thinks they are the first person with that idea!

GM has been supercharging the 3.8L engine since 1988 in the bonneville SSEI and the Electra at the same year. Before that the 231 Turbo was put in the Grand Nationals and they were the fastest production car from 1984-1987, beating out Camaro, Mustang, and even the Corvette. The 3.8L engine has alot of potential for power. The supercharger tho is not designed to be used in our cars. I have seen then stuff one in a Cutlass RWD but there is alot more room between the firewall and engine in that car.
