Looking for a battery relocate kit for a camaro (4th) gen, what's the best kit out there and where can I get it from?

 

summit raceing has alot of them from 82 to 2002 works from 150.00 to 300.00 ,depends to you want plastic or .metal box taylor ,vortech ,or summit the 300 series looked the best from taylor,

 

I presume you're talking about putting the battery in the back? If using a conventional (vented) lead acid battery, you need to put the battery in a sealed box with a vent hose to the outside. Moroso makes a good one. Or, you could use a Gel or AGM battery, which are totally sealed and non-venting. You don't even need to put those in a box unless you want to keep it isolated from other contents.

 

Yea, I basically just want to move the battery to the back, will be using a red top battery

 

Red Top is a AGM, so you don't need to vent. Curious why you'd want to move the battery to back?

 

I put mine in the back, mostly for a cleaner engine compartment. And having less weight up front makes it easier to get the front wheels off the ground...well almost!

 

Agreed with all here, but, if OP is going racing, NHRA requires a battery cut-off switch with the ability to shut off power from outside of the vehicle when battery is relocated to the rear/trunk.
Also, battery has to be secured to frame rail - no #10 sheet metal screws to trunk floor.
If vehicle rolls, God forbid, battery mounting must keep battery on frame rail.

Yes I'm aware of the nhra rules, but if you running a independent fuel system for nitrous where would you mount the fuel cell if you don't move it to the trunk??? And also it looks better with the battery in the trunk imo

 

Attach a Thule Luggage rack to the roof and use gravity to feed - LOL!!!

Not familiar with running an extra fuel tank for nitrous in a 4th Gen, but could the present sending unit be modified with another nipple for supply?

 

Yea there quiet a few guys that have the independent fuel system on the 4th gen, just YouTube Tony Shepard lt1 if you need proof to see, but I just really wanted to know the best relocate kit for the battery was
