Those are just remanufacture GM blocks not new. If you read the description those are all processes for for making a old engine like new.

"Thermally cleaned and Stainless Steel Shot. Inspected by MPI process. Decked, bored, honed oversize line honed and pressure washed. Clevite cam bearings and pioneer brass freeze plugs installed"

Why would a new block need pressure wash or Line honed oversized? If the company was making blocks they would sell the blocks and just listed as NEW! They would most likely offer an unmachined block. The process of casting and machining a engine block is very expensive to tool up and setup if you are not making 100s per day. Each block itself would cost 4-8K depending on the volume. Since GM or its vender has all the tools they are the only ones that can make a new LT1 at a resonable price. GM owns the design so the vendor you need GM's OK to sell the motors. The only place aftermarket blocks are used is racing because of the price.

I was checking Pace Performace (A GM dealer that sell a ton of New GM engine) they do not offer an LT1. They had a listing for the Cast iron head version but they where not excepting any orders. Seems like GM has discontinued LT1's. You can buy new 3.4s and 3.8s. I am sure once demand rises they will start up again.

i'd assume the days of buying a new LT1 are dead. only made them for a few short years and aren't as desirable as the LS1. a couple years ago, dart was planning a big bore LT1, but plans fell through as they didn't find enough desire from people to have one.

you're in texas? i wouldn't think finding an LT1 would be hard in texas. try craigslist and other places like that. if i can find them in iowa, you can find them in texas
