the diameter for the 2001 Z28 tail pipes. are they 2.25" or 2.50" ?

Yes the 01's have the rectangular tips. He is wondering about the pipe that the tips fit on...

I believe it's 2.50" when it goes into them muffler and then each pipe coming off the muffler is 2.25"

oh ok thanks so if i get new tips theinlet diameter forthe tips should be 2.25 right?

alright well im lookinfor somethin like theses

will 10" be long enough? or should i go for the single round 18" long?

Take a piece of string and measure around the pipe then divide by 3.14 that will give you the true pipe diameter.
