Default Antifreeze in Oil

Hey guys, I just had my LT1 rebuilt professionally by a local shop about a month ago and installed the engine a couple of weeks ago myself. I have put about 380 miles on it since I installed it and it has been driving fine, but we noticed how to coolant has been going down slightly every time we check it. We will refill it, drive it, let it sit for awhile, and when we check it again it will be back down to where it was. Today we drained the oil out of the car and we found antifreeze in the oil. I am just wondering where I should even start with solving this problem. Thanks guys.

90% of the time that would indicate a blown headgasket... Could also be a cracked block or a warped head. You would hope it's the headgasket as it's the cheapest of the 3 repairs.

You can get a coolant pressure tester that hooks in place of the radiator cap to check for any leaks too.

Did the engine builder give you any kind of a guarantee?

What are the chances of a blown head gasket though since it's a fresh rebuild?

The shop did not give a warranty for it but I did call them and they told me to keep them posted and that they were gonna try to help me out until we get it fixed. They told me they would make it right.

only place other than the motor is the oil cooler. i would think the oil would go in the coolant there though. oil pressure is higher except when the motor is shut off.

Hope that works out....I don't know how much you spent on the rebuild or who did it for you, but I would insist on a warranty if I had that kind of work done. I hope your not about to learn a very expensive lesson.
