There are 3 bolt flange style connections, but not for the 4th gen F-bodies, they're all on the classic GM vehicles. My buddies Hooker Super Comps on his '76 Vette have a 3 bolt flange. I personally like the slip-fit with a band clamp, much sleeker in my opinion.

hm i see, im still getting confused off of this... so ok right now i have a stock exhaust with a flowmaster muffler, and im buyng an SLP LM I (i have an 97 Z28) and i was just wonderign what i need to get if i were to byu headers, shorties, mid-tube, or longtube and like what Y because i min NC and i do have emissions...

If you're worried about emissions, then maybe you shouldn't do longtubes.

You can go for Long Tubes, it's just going to cost you a bit more because you have to get headers that have the correct emissions fittings as well as a catted Y pipe. That's the setup I have. If you are willing to spend the money, I will sing Kooks praises all day, I love mine and they are the heighest quality header I've ever seen. If you're on a bit more of a budget you can go for Dynatech headers. Both of those companies offer emissions fittings on their headers. The next step is getting a Y pipe with two high flow cats in it, it's always best if you can get a Y pipe from the manufacture you bought your headers from so you can ensure a good fit. If you get full long tubes and a catted Y pipe you'll have to chop off a bit of the SLP cat back, but they should line right up.

My personal opinion on shorties and mid-tube headers is that if you're going to do it once, you may as well get it done right the first time. Save up to spend the money on the thing that's going to get you the best gains instead of paying for something that's not exactly what you want. The real advantage of long tubes over the shorties/mid-tubes is you get much better low end torque gains.
